One session down, one to go!

Campers reached the finish line of camp last Friday! As counselors, we want to look back at the highlights of how the entire journey went and hope to learn much from this experience. We had the best moments that we will definitely cherish, like the poster showcase with parents at the end of camp! There were also struggles we will learn from, improve, and use to support our future campers. Some of the greatest experiences were the activities that we facilitated for the enjoyment of our campers: great fun, like assembling each other’s art into one figure and exercising team-building through a design challenge with cups, strings, and tennis balls! 

Of course, with a lot of this being so new, we definitely have areas to pay more attention to in order to improve the journey. There were experiments that didn’t go as planned, so we are testing additional protocols this week to expand the tools campers can use to investigate their scientific questions. We are also reviewing different decisions and making tweaks to our day-to-day routines so the camp runs more smoothly. We are spending the week re-energizing and reflecting on ways to make next week even more exciting! 

While we are currently students in learning, we really look forward to bringing a whole lot of enthusiasm for the next camp session. Our team will embrace whatever our aspiring campers will bring!
